(From the book “About Dima and Lyonia, when they were 12 years old, and later, when they became 72 years old”)
Dima, Lyonia and the coach for jumping were sitting on a bench. Not far from them, a rabbit ran. Because Dima and Lyonia never saw rabbits, they thought that they were aliens.
- Look, an alien, – said Lyonia and yawned.
- Martian, – nodded Dima and yawned.
- This isn’t an alien, said the coach for high jumping. – This is a Rabbit.
- A Rabbit! – shouted Lyonia. And jumped out of surprise. – Wow! A real rabbit!
- Cool! – shouted Dima. And also jumped out of amazement, 1 Meter and 20 Centimeters. –
This can’t be true! – Dima even rubbed his eyes with his fists.
- Boy, - applied the coach to Dima. – You don’t want to train in high jumps? 1 Meter and 20 Centimeters is a good result.
And Dima started training in high jumps.
And the coach always had to surprise Dima for good results. For example, for Dima to jump 2 Meters, he had to show him a Penguin.
