The Others
(From the book "About Dima and Lenny, when they were 12 years old, and later, when they were 72 years old")
by Artur Givargizov

Dima, Lenny and a pole vaulting coach were sitting on a bench. A hare hopped by. Dima and Lenny have never seen a hare, so they thought it was an alien.
"Look, an alien," Lenny said and yawned.
"A Martian," Dima nodded and yawned.
"That's not an alien," said the pole vaulting coach. "It's a hare."
"A hare!" Lenny yelled and jumped from surprise.
"Cool!" Dima shouted and jumped up 3.9 feet from surprise.
"No way!" Dima rubbed his eyes with his fists.
"Kid," the coach said to Dima. "Would you like to take pole vaulting lessons? 3.9 feet is a very good score."
And Dima started learning pole vaulting.
The coach always had to surprise Dima to get good scores. For example, he had to show him a penguin so that Dima could jump 6.6 feet high.
