A psychologist by her training and a first profession, Olga Bukhina found her voice as a translator, literary critic, and scholar of children’s literature. She translated and published thirty five books for all age categories. Among them are works of K.C. Lewis, Enid Blighton, Mary Stewart, Elizabeth Goudge, Philippa Pierce, Philippa Gregory, Carl Sandburg, Louise Fitzhugh, Elise Broach, Jacqueline Kelly, Meg Rosoff, Jean Little, and others. Her literary critiques and works on children's literature have appeared in numerous joualsrn, magazines, and online publications, in both Russian and English. Olga co-authored three books of the Ludmila Ulitskaya’s Children’s Project Other, The Others, About Others: Language Is My Friend; Communication Actually; and Holidays! Holidays! She is also author of The Ugly Duckling, Harry Potter, and Others: A Guide to Children's Books About Orphans.

Olga Varshaver translates English language literature. A member of the Masters of Literary Translation Guild, she holds a 2015 Master Award in children's literature translation. She is also in charge of the literary department of ARCADIA Theater. Ms.Varshaver is well known for her work in drama (she has translated plays by Tom Stoppard, Iris Murdoch, and Neil Labute, among others). Her works for children include translations of Andersen Award laureates Eleanor Farjeon and David Almond, as well as Dr. Seuss, Frank Baum, and Kate DiCamillo. Between 2000 and 2009, Ms. Varshaver was the editor of the international bilingual educational magazine Thinking Classroom/ Перемена. She teaches English and Literary Translation.
